PM Server

Responsibilities

• Set assigned stations according to the set design prior to the start of the serving period.
• Maintain stocked and clean serving stations during service, including china, glass, silver, food, and beverage.
• Greet arriving guests within the designated time frame.
• Bus tables as guests depart, clear, clean, and reset for other guests.
• Practice suggestive selling for all food and beverage orders.
• Utilize correct timing for placing food orders, delivering food, condiments, etc.
• Handle special requests from guests.
• Correctly enter orders into the point of sale system, including accurate billing (room charge, cash, or credit card).
• Verify legal drinking age before serving alcoholic beverages; ask for identification if in doubt.
• Follow TIPS procedures for guest alcohol consumption.
• Maintain clean and organized menus for the proper service period.
• Complete opening and closing side duties.
• Maintain cleanliness of restaurant seating and serving areas during service.
• Adhere to hotel food sanitation policies and procedures when handling food and beverage.
• Practice proper service recovery techniques to resolve guest issues to their satisfaction.
• Escalate unresolved issues or problems with food/beverage products to management.
• Follow Food & Beverage department safety standards, particularly in the kitchen area.
• Properly handle all chemicals and cleaning agents, especially around food.
• Report any injury, no matter how minor, to a supervisor or manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including tasks in other Food & Beverage or hotel departments.

Qualifications

• Previous food and beverage serving experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge.
• Experience with computerized point of sale systems and cash handling.
• Ability to follow hotel food and beverage policies on sanitation, portion control, serving, storing, and food handling.
• Willingness to interact with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner throughout the shift.
• Willingness to assist in all areas of the Food & Beverage department.
• Physical ability to perform the functions of the position.
