PM- Project Manager

About the Role

BELFOR Project Managers specialize in either restoration or construction. As the industry expert, you will serve as a local, regional, or national BELFOR resource for large, complex, and high-risk/high-profile projects. You will also deploy on BELFOR Cat teams following hurricanes and other regionalized damage recovery efforts. Project Managers are eligible to become BELFOR estimators.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate thorough understanding of all BELFOR service lines.
• Construction track: understand scope, schedule work, communicate professionally, ensure project safety, and maintain quality control.
• Establish core project management capabilities, including time management, budgeting, scheduling, site supervision, customer contact, communication, quality control, safety, documentation, and change orders.
• Continually advance knowledge of current and past construction practices.
• Review daily project requirements, document progress, and notify managers of progress and challenges.
• Provide field documentation, photo logs, graphs, and sketches for various TPA projects.
• Perform all skills related to prior roles: Advanced Fire Damage Specialist, Advanced Water Damage Specialist, Advanced Carpenter.
• Qualify vendors and subcontractors, guiding them through the vendor qualification process.
• Manage fixed-bid projects and rate-and-material projects.
• Understand BELFOR invoicing for various project types and provide necessary documentation.
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections; maintain vehicles in clean, serviceable condition.
• Maintain attention to detail and meet BELFOR Standards in safeguarding other people’s property.
• Apply comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
• Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines, including nights and weekends as requested, and travel periodically.
• Report time worked, equipment, and consumables used accurately and timely.
• Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required.
• Assist other Project Managers and Senior Project Managers; volunteer for CAT duty as possible.
• Advance knowledge of technical services (Restoration track) or building codes and local, state, and federal regulations (Construction Track).
• Serve as role models for Superintendents.
• Sell and upgrade additional services on assigned projects.
• Communicate daily with Estimators on project status, timeline adjustments, or issues.
• Continually improve core project management skills to complete projects on time, on budget, and with documented customer satisfaction.

Construction Focus

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee employees and subcontractors in all phases of work.
• Read and manage blueprints.
• Responsible for projects exceeding $1M.
• Understand and adhere to local building codes and regulatory agencies.

Restoration Focus

• Direct small crews of BELFOR personnel and temporary workers.
• Responsible for projects exceeding $1M.
• Attend BELFOR-approved training courses in areas of lesser experience.
• Manage large crews and projects through crew leaders and assistants.
• Manage and document rate-and-material projects; work with PMs or Estimators to develop restoration plans.
• Supervise multiple crews simultaneously on multiple projects.
