About the Role
Our package handlers are our front-line employees and a very important part of GLS. They work diligently to sort and ensure packages are in the correct route to meet delivery timelines. They work closely as a team to complete all behind-the-scenes tasks safely and successfully. No two days are the same. We are looking to expand our team with people who care about safety, quality, and working at a fast pace.
Responsibilities
- Scan and/or sort packages, load and unload trucks.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Relatively stable but frequently wet and/or humid conditions.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibrations.
- Loud noise levels and moderate exposure to hazardous environmental conditions.
- Prolonged standing required.
- Regular work in outside weather conditions.
Lifting Requirements
- 0–25 lbs.: Regularly (65–100% of the time).
- 26–50 lbs.: Regularly (65–100% of the time).
- 51+ lbs.: Regularly (65–100% of the time).
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Willing to follow instructions and accept supervision.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward work and cooperate with co-workers and supervisors.
