PM Cook / Gallery Host

Job Summary

We are seeking an Evening Gallery Host/Cook to prepare meals for our guests at the Lobby Bistro in the Hyatt Place Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch. The primary focus is cooking, but there are opportunities for cross-functional training in the front desk and full-service lobby bar.

Responsibilities

• Complete the daily prep list
• Prepare a variety of hot and cold food items
• Wash, peel, slice, measure, and mix ingredients
• Assemble dishes
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to distribute food

Essential Job Functions

• Set-up kitchen properly and on time daily
• Ensure all food is prepared by recipes designated by brand
• Ensure food quality and quantity are correct
• Follow all QA and Health Department standards
• Notify supervisor of any problems or complaints when they arise
• Follow “clean as you go” policy and keep work area clean at all times
• Rotation of goods – FIFO (First In First Out)
• After service, turn off and clean oven tops, work areas, and reach-in boxes
• Empty and clean dishwasher
• Make sure production charts are closely followed and adhered to
• Fill out appropriate cleaning charts
• Be aware of accident prevention and help enforce safe work conditions
• Follow all kitchen regulations as outlined and directed
• Complete administrative duties as required

• Strong time management and problem solving skills

Education and Experience

• Food preparation experience is a plus

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Satisfactory criminal background screening required

Expected Hours of Work

• This position requires variable hours based on the needs of the hotel including nights and weekends.
