Plywood Shift Supervisor (Rotate Shift)
Primary Duties
- Supervision of production employees
- Safety oversight
- Product quality control
- Training and development of hourly employees
- Department workflow management
- Manpower utilization
- Communication and policy administration
- Demonstrate commitment to BIC and continuous improvement
- Maintain environmental awareness
- Facilitate payroll
- Manage employees within labor agreement guidelines
Essential Functions
- Coordinate daily activities of production employees
- Prepare work orders and recommend equipment modifications
- Summarize production flow results in daily/weekly reports
- Aid in process improvement for production, quality, and safety issues
- Train hourly employees on housekeeping, job safety, and accident investigation
- Facilitate and coordinate accident investigations
- Develop good employee relations and handle complaints promptly
- Provide activity reports on safety, production, maintenance, and quality
- Identify and respond to customer needs and be open to change
- Maintain environmental awareness and promote safety practices
- Appraise employee performance
- Understand and facilitate payroll, inventory, and shipping processes
- Schedule and maintain operations
Compensation
$68,000 - $102,000
Basic Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent work experience in related job function
- Proven skills in a production environment with understanding of manufacturing practices
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work well with people and facilitate change and growth in a team environment
- Available to work flexible schedule (including swing and graveyard shifts)
- PC skills essential
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience, typically more than 5 years of experience in related job function
- Windows NT programs helpful
