About the role
Manages the Plumbing department consisting of project field crews and Plumbing Prefabrication crew. Oversees labor and material costs for all projects, ensuring day-to-day activities of crews meet budgets and schedule dates. Provides guidance to crews to maintain job quality and customer satisfaction, while building lasting relationships with clients, customers, and vendors. Creates a positive work environment to maintain a sufficient and qualified workforce.
Responsibilities
- Plan, staff, and direct the Plumbing Department.
- Manage scope, schedule, and cost of all field projects.
- Maintain manpower for field and fabrication shop to meet current and future workload.
- Update and maintain manpower placement and review job cost status biweekly (labor and material).
- Identify, manage, and mitigate problem areas related to safety, production, and efficiency in the field and fab shop.
- Maintain manpower list and compensation records.
- Conduct annual reviews on time and hire/release employees as necessary.
- Provide training in areas needing attention and lead by example with dignity and respect.
- Ensure quality installation of assigned jobs/projects.
- Review submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify potential change orders.
- Review and approve time sheets.
- Work with CAD/BIM Department on all assigned jobs/projects.
- Identify pre-fabrication opportunities.
Requirements
- Current AZ Journeyman License.
- 7+ years of verifiable Commercial Plumbing Superintendent experience in heavy commercial construction (e.g., hotels, office buildings, hospitals, casinos).
- 5+ year clean driving record.
- Ability to work with CAD/BIM Department on assigned projects.
- Excellent work ethic and attendance.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Team player.
- Pass pre-employment tests.
