Plumbing Designer
About the role
We are a nationally recognized, award-winning architecture, engineering, and construction firm known for a dynamic company culture that fosters innovation and challenges the status quo. We are currently seeking a talented Plumbing Designer to join our growing MEP Engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis, design, and system selection for building applications with support of a senior designer or engineer.
- Ensure conformance of design with applicable building codes and project sustainability goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Cover coordination of submittal of documentation for permitting/regulatory review with multiple local agencies and jurisdictions.
- Participate in the feasibility, conceptual, and early planning of projects through final design, construction and post-occupancy with the guidance of a senior designer or engineer.
- Clearly and concisely convey technical solutions and performance objectives while ensuring project alignment with client goals, project design, sustainability objectives, schedule, budget, constructability and post-occupancy performance.
- Lead the preparation of design documentation including BIM models, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior designers or engineers.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including architecture, engineering, sustainability, construction, and other consultants, to support the integrated delivery of projects.
- Conduct research on systems, products, building codes, and sustainable design practices to inform project decisions.
- Perform construction phase and post-occupancy activities including submittal review, construction site observations and commissioning conclusion.
- Engage in continuous learning opportunities, attend industry events, and participate in internal training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Associate degree / Technical degree required.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from accredited engineering program a plus.
- 4 - 8 years of related plumbing design experience.
- CPD technical certification a plus.
- LEED or other sustainable building certification a plus.
Qualifications
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and codes.
- Experience with BIM and other digital design tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000, individual pay based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k).
