About the role

PAE is seeking a motivated and inquisitive Plumbing Design Engineering Intern to join our team in one of our major office locations (San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; New York, NY; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Portland, OR; Los Angeles, CA). The internship is a 10‑ to 12‑week paid program that provides hands‑on experience in sustainable engineering design, exposing interns to the full design process from planning through execution and problem solving.

• Design layout of plumbing systems
• Onsite non‑potable reuse and nutrient recovery systems
• Water data (WUI) analysis
• Electrification of domestic hot water systems
• CAD and Revit
• Energy modeling
• Design calculations
• Construction administration and site visits
• General project timeline/overview
• Specifications
• Site Visits/Site Observation Reports
• Cost estimate review/preparation
• M/E coordination schedule

Requirements

• 3rd year undergraduate student preferred
• Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering major
• Desire to work in the Building Design industry
• Passionate about sustainable design solutions
