Plumbing BIM Detailer

About the role

The ideal candidate will have experience using Revit and CAD software in a mechanical, plumbing, or MEP environment and enjoy collaborating with project managers, field teams, shop personnel, and other trades.

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, engineering drawings, addendums, and contract documents
  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for plumbing systems
  • Generate fabrication, assembly, spool, and coordination drawings for field installation
  • Cook clash detection and participate in multidisciplinary trade coordination efforts
  • Create and maintain project documentation required for permitting, plan review, fabrication, and construction activities
  • Process drawing revisions and updates as project requirements evolve
  • Organize and archive project files, drawings, and related documentation
  • Support constructability reviews and identify opportunities to improve installation efficiency
  • Maintain CAD, BIM, and VDC standards to ensure model accuracy and consistency
  • Communicate design changes and coordination issues with project stakeholders
  • Assist with project closeout documentation as required

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of CAD and/or Revit experience
  • Experience creating BIM models and construction drawings within a mechanical, plumbing, or MEP environment
  • Strong understanding of BIM coordination and modeling practices
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a project team environment

Preferred

  • 2-5 years of plumbing BIM detailing experience
  • Plumbing design or plumbing construction experience
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and related BIM software
  • Knowledge of fabrication workflows and spool drawing development
  • Familiarity with clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination processes
  • Experience working on commercial, healthcare, industrial, or institutional construction projects
  • Exposure to Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) practices
