Plumbing Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of licensed plumbers to assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems.
• Learn and apply plumbing techniques, like pipe cutting, soldering, brazing, threading, and fittings assembly.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the layout of plumbing systems.
• Absorb and apply knowledge from training programs, workshops, and continuing education courses to enhance plumbing knowledge and skills.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, and continuing education courses to enhance plumbing knowledge and skills and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, regulations, and permit requirements, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Gain proficiency in the safe operation of hand and power tools commonly used in plumbing work, including wrenches, pipe cutters, drills, saws, and augers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in pursuing a career in the plumbing industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions.

Skills

• Competent, responsible, organized and team oriented.
• Strong communication skills and math skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb.
