Job Description

Performs basic irrigation system repairs, including: digging up & replacing sprinkler heads & valves, and troubleshooting irrigation time clocks. Inspects sprinkler heads for proper operation, and makes adjustments as needed. Assists with installation of new irrigation systems and retrofitting old systems. Daily reporting of assigned job completion status to supervisor.

• Responsible for driving a City vehicles and trailers, as well as loading & transport of large area City maintenance equipment to various park & beautification area and construction sites throughout the City, as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing ladders, working at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Hand/finger dexterity to handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms.
• Operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public.

Acceptable Experience, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications

• Applicant must be 16 years of age or older;
• A high school diploma or GED preferred;
• Two (2) to five (5) years of experience may be required;
• Specialized certifications, construction and/or supervisory experience may be required;
• An Idaho Drivers license is required.
