Job Responsibilities
- Teach basic plumbing courses covering topics such as: Plumbing tools and safety, Plumbing codes and standards, Pipe materials, fittings, and installation, Water supply and drainage systems for standard residential fixtures, Basic math, measurements, blueprint reading and basic layout.
- Deliver engaging classroom and lab instruction to diverse student populations.
- Emphasize safety, professionalism, and workplace best practices.
- Develop or follow approved course syllabi.
- Absess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain plumbing lab equipment and promote safety.
- Schedule courses, order textbooks and any other aspects to operate the program.
Requirements
- Journeyman-level plumbing experience or higher.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong understanding of basic plumbing principles and codes.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to beginner-level students.
- Commitment to student learning and workforce preparation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- State plumbing license (Residential or Mechanical) or Journeyman certification.
- Teaching, training, or mentoring experience (formal or informal).
- Experience working with apprentices or entry-level workers.
- Familiarity with community college or technical education environments.
