Plumber/Pipefitter
Join a leading pharmaceutical facility in Indianapolis where your mechanical expertise directly supports critical, life-saving operations. We are seeking a skilled Plumber/Pipefitter to join our facilities maintenance team on a stable, Monday through Friday day shift schedule. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the infrastructure of a cutting-edge laboratory and manufacturing environment, ensuring that our complex mechanical systems operate at peak efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Repair, install, replace, test, and fix water and medical gas supply steam systems, traps, and related components.
- Apply knowledge of steam piping and components.
- Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures using blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.
- Assist other staff members or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
- Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
- Provide training to other staff members so they can perform light plumbing maintenance and repair.
- Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
- Respond to emergency situations, summoning extra help as needed.
- Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE-related requirements.
- Complete HSE programs and activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment.
- Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Plumbing certification at the Journeyman level required.
- Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Schedule
Monday through Friday day shift.
