About the role

Plumbing & Service Technician responsible for drains and plumbing of all kinds, including educating and providing potential clients with choices and options.

Responsibilities

• Removes roots, debris, and other refuse from clogged sewer lines and drains using portable electric sewer cleaning machine.
• Repairs breaks in underground piping by positioning or disassembling sewer trap machine at sewer or drain outlet.
• Removes drain cover using wrench and installs rotary knives on flexible cable mounted on reel according to pipe diameter.
• Observes residue for evidence of mud indicating broken sewer line and measures distance to suspected break using plumbers’ snake, tape measure, or by estimating position of cutting head.
• Removes and replaces broken tile section or pipe using caulking compound and cement to form watertight joint.
• Replaces dull knives and performs repairs on machine using hand tools.
• Estimates cost of service to customer.
• Maintains a safe work area according to company policy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of local plumbing codes and ability to apply them in a practical manner on each job.
• Ability to read and write English well enough to read and prepare invoices, time sheets, and proposals.
• Capable of applying sound business judgment to all decisions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
