Plumber, Maintenance - Ft Knox, KY

Responsibilities
- Assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and codes.
- Study building plans for determining work aids and sequence of installations.
- Locate and mark positions of pipes, pipe connections, and passage holes for pipe in walls and floors.
- Bend, cut, and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch and machines.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe composed of metals, glass vitrifies, clay and plastic.
- Join pipe using screws, bolts, solder, plastic solvents and caulk.
- Leak test pipe systems using water and gases.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, sinks, dishwashers, commodes and hot water heater tanks.
- Repair and maintain leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, opening clogged drains, stationary drainage, storm water, storm drainage, vents, sizing sanitary drainage and protecting potable water supply.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Journeyman License preferred.
- Five years related experience with the ability to perform the assigned duties.
- Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Skills
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb ladders. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach.
- Required to be able to lift 75lbs up to 10 times per day.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
- Requires working knowledge of related equipment.
- Requires ability to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances required for installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing fixtures.
- Requires ability to follow maintenance instructions, service, diagnose systems and complete repairs.
- Requires demonstrated knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
Other Requirements
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
- Requires documented Hepatitis B vaccination and a Hepatitis B antibody test demonstrating immunity.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).

Schedule
Typical work hours will be Monday–Friday from 7:00am–3:30pm.
