Plumber (Journeyman License Required)

About the role

Dunn’s HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical, a Southern Home Services Company, is seeking a dynamic Service Plumber to join a thriving business that values work-life balance and prioritizes its employees.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
• Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
• Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
• Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
• Manage the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
• Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
• Maintain safety equipment
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
• Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations
• Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers, team members, and supervisors
• Physical fitness to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods
• Safety-oriented knowledge and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
• Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with a focus on professionalism and customer satisfaction
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report on job progress
• Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed

Qualifications

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
• Regularly standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, both in person and by telephone
• Using hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reaching with hands and arms
• Stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching
• Regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow
