Plumber

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools and other methods pertaining to the installation of copper, carbon steel, cast iron.
• Experience in soldering, brazing, pro press, pipe threading, pipe grooving, and various other piping methods used in a Commercial/Industrial Environment.
• Fills pipe system with water or air, reads gauges to determine system pressure.
• Proficient in Commercial drain cleaning and service.
• Directs Trade Helper assigned to plumber.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Basic Qualifications

• Basic literacy and the strength and dexterity required to perform heavy lifting tasks.
• High School Diploma, GED or Trade School.
• Minimum (3) three years’ experience in the plumbing trades.
• Licensed at the Journeyman level in the City of Philadelphia.
• Must provide own basic hand tools and test equipment.
• Capable of reading blueprints, drawings and layouts.
• Must be able to read and speak English clearly.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Able to climb ladders and walk long distances.
• Able to pass Background Investigation without Criminal history.
• Able to work overtime when required.
• Able to work in all climate conditions.
• Will be working in a Correctional environment, which is a 24/7 operation.
• Shifts to be assigned.
• Shifts may involve multiple schedules.
