Plumber Apprentice - Rapid City, SD
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Plumber Apprentice to assist experienced plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in a healthcare environment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience while working toward a career in the plumbing trade. This is a 1st Shift 7am to 3:30pm M-F schedule with rotating weekends required.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed plumbers with installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply, drainage, and sewer systems
- Support installation of fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment to job sites
- Measure, cut, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools
- Help diagnose plumbing issues and assist with troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety procedures and local plumbing codes
- Attend training sessions and complete apprenticeship requirements
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Enrollment in or willingness to join a plumbing apprenticeship program is required
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are required
- Good communication and teamwork skills are important
- The ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines is necessary
