About the role

The PLT Bead Room Set Up Tech will perform the following duties:

  • Set up and adjust all Bead winding and Apex bead machines equipment to specification for quality and production.
  • Train individuals to make setups and aid in training required for the department.
  • Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set up, detect, adjust, and correct winding and bead building equipment.
  • Make Drum changes per schedule and drum set adjustments for all Conti Filler machines, as directed by supervisor.
  • Supervise and audit building for first beads after set-up changes or adjustments to ensure set-up is to specifications and approve for production.
  • Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and utilize skills to reduce downtime on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments to machines.
  • Maintain accurate daily records on each machine so that history of all breakdowns, changes, adjustments, and pertinent information is documented for reference.
  • Effectively communicate with TPM, Floor Supervisor, and other Setup Technicians when any malfunction or breakdown occurs.
  • Perform work as directed by Shift Supervision, Lead Supervisor, and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high-quality production and training.
  • Aid in the training of new employees and accomplish yearly training regimen for the department.
  • Complete weekly function checks.
  • Complete additional job duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years of mechanical experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job posting.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience or an Associate Degree.

Work Environment

  • New hires will likely be placed on a shift that includes evenings and weekends.
  • The job is within a non-climate-controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.
  • Majority of work is completed in a high-heat environment.
  • The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.

Pay

The starting annual salary for this role is $64,613 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
