Responsibilities
- Lead and manage land surveying projects from field work through final deliverables
- Perform and/or oversee boundary line traverse surveys, topographic/detail surveys, construction layout, and existing conditions surveys
- Review, download, and post-process survey data
- Prepare and review Existing Conditions Plans and related survey deliverables
- Utilize total stations, data collectors, GPS, and 3D laser scanning equipment
- Support drafting and plan preparation using AutoCAD
- Cook up and coordinate closely with civil engineering, landscape architecture, and project management teams
- Review survey work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements
- Mentor and support survey technicians, project designers, and staff working toward licensure
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, municipalities, and internal team members
- Ensure proper care and use of survey equipment and vehicles
Qualifications
- Active Professional Land Surveyor license preferred/required
- Strong understanding of land surveying processes, procedures, and Massachusetts survey standards
- Experience with boundary, topographic, existing conditions, and construction layout surveys
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office preferred
- Experience using GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and/or 3D laser scanning equipment
- Strong mathematical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in both field and office environments
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service-focused approach
- Ability to represent the firm professionally with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Experience mentoring junior survey staff is a plus
