About the role

This position involves participating in scale up, process testing, data analysis, and communication of results. Responsibilities include developing and modifying process methods and controls, working with new and established products, documenting production specifications, developing testing for production needs, managing plant production issues, and leading process installations and changes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in scale up, process testing, data analysis, and communication of results.
  • Develops and modifies process methods and controls to meet quality standards.
  • Works with new and established products to identify, recommend, and implement improvements, modifications, or additions.
  • Documents and prepares production specifications for Avient products.
  • Develops testing for production needs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manages successful resolution of plant production issues.
  • Initiates design reviews to improve the ability to manufacture products.
  • Identifies and solves issues or problems with equipment/process.
  • Troubleshoots possible causes and coordinates the activities of maintenance, production, and other available resources to implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Provides team leadership to Process Specialists and Engineering Co-ops and direction of new process installation and process changes.
  • Plans, conducts, and supervises assignments.
  • Reviews progress with management.

Project Manager for capital projects

  • Participates in scale up, process testing, data analysis, and communication of results.
  • Develops and modifies process formulations, methods, and controls to meet quality standards.
  • Works with new and established products to identify, recommend, and implement improvements, modifications, or additions.
  • Documents and prepares production specifications for Avient products.
  • Develops testing for production needs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manages successful resolution of plant production issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience with programming and automation.
  • Experience leading in a supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLCs and Wonderware Intouch Edge HMIs.
  • Experience with ladder logic programming and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with HMI design and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with analog and digital sensors (0-10V, 4-20mA, 24VDC, 120VAC).
  • Experience with electrical wiring diagrams.

What will put you ahead

  • SQL coding experience.
  • Understanding of IP address networking.
  • PLC Cabinet design experience.
