Play Facilitator

About the role

Walker’s Imaginarium is a 16,000 square foot child enrichment center located at Manning Family Children’s main campus. It offers numerous exhibits and spaces for pediatric patients and their families and friends to find joy, respite, and connection during hospital visits.

Responsibilities

• Engage with children/patients and parents/guardians to facilitate intentional exploration and play using researched best practices in childhood development.
• Interact with caregivers using researched best practices in childhood development.
• Facilitate safe and joyful play for all visitors of Walker’s Imaginarium.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety within each space.
• Check-in through the visitor management system and engage with medical professionals to transport patients to and from their rooms.
• Promote knowledge about exhibits and programming to all patients, families, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of or current enrollment in Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children.

Qualifications

• Positive and engaging demeanor.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in MS Office 365 Suite, POS, CRM and/or visitor management system.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledgeable about all exhibits and their associated loose parts.
• Ensures cleanliness and safety within each space.
• Engages with medical professionals to transport patients to and from their rooms.
• Helps visitors maximize their experiences in each exhibit through safe and joyful play.

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This role will start at the end of September or early October and will be variable hours.
