Platform Software Engineer 1 - Full-time Intern Conversion
Executes well-defined platform tasks under close supervision, such as basic updates to SDKs or client libraries and simple observability instrumentation. Follows established middleware patterns and coding standards to fix routine issues and support safe, backward-compatible changes. Monitors basic platform metrics and API usage within a limited scope. Contributes to documentation by refining examples and reference snippets.
Responsibilities
- Implement basic updates to SDKs/client libraries and instrumentation aligned to established platform patterns.
- Triage routine platform issues using playbooks; safeguard backward compatibility on simple changes.
- Contribute small documentation improvements (samples, config snippets) for platform adoption.
- Implement simple software solutions with supervision, adhering to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Assist with creating and reviewing code for new software features and enhancements following design specifications.
- Conduct debugging and troubleshooting to identify and fix simple software issues.
- Assist with implementing software testing (e.g., functional testing) and quality assurance processes.
- Conduct or follow software error logging, monitoring, and observability for effective debugging.
- Support the implementation of performance profiling and optimization of coding within a defined scope.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues related to application programming interface (API) functionality and integration.
- Assist with implementing API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.
- Communicate with team to understand customer issues and align solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding customer-reported issues, with direct supervision.
- Learn to identify customers' interests and suggest product enhancements based on feedback.
- Assist team to ensure customer satisfaction through timely resolution of issues and effective communication.
- Collaborate with experienced colleagues to investigate and troubleshoot product maintenance issues.
- Follow detailed guidance related to development practices and coding standards to ensure code quality.
- Support basic periodic maintenance and testing operations for systems requiring upgrades or patching.
- Complete assigned tasks and monitor timelines to ensure timely completion of work, with supervision.
- Collaborate with team members to understand expectations and contribute to shared objectives.
- Build basic understanding of business, stakeholder, and/or customer needs with guidance.
- Follow standard procedures to identify and escalate issues to senior team members.
- Collect and review basic data and/or information to troubleshoot common errors.
- Build knowledge and learn new skills and/or tools aligned with industry trends and best practices as directed.
- Incorporate feedback and participate in training to improve skills.
- Begin to identify ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows with guidance.
Requirements
- Have graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent science/engineering field by August 2027.
- Proficient (i.e., able to complete coding projects with no assistance) in one or more of these programming languages: Java, Python, C, C#, C++, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, SQL, Scala.
- Completed coursework, projects, internships, and/or research in 3 or more of the following:
- Algorithms and Data Structures
- Artificial Intelligence
- Big Data
- Database
- Machine Learning
- Object-Oriented Programming
- Operating Systems
- Software Programming
- Web Development
- Micro-Services Architecture
- Container Architectures (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- User Interface Design
- Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US.
- Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2026.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred qualification).

Pay
Hiring range in USD: $74,100 - $148,300 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
