Platform Engineering - DevOps

Job Purpose and Impact

As a Platform Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain digital technology infrastructure that supports information technology applications and services.

Key Accountabilities

• Partners to design and develop high quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable and efficient codes.

• Applies internal software deployment platform, continuous integration or continuous delivery pipeline and twelve factor development methodology to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.

• Partners with cross-functional team of product managers, designers and other engineers to gather moderately complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

• Writes and maintains moderately complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software, applying test driven development as needed.

• Identifies and suggests options for improving the software development and deployment processes, and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.

• Drafts and maintains comprehensive documentation for moderately complex software applications, deployment processes and system configurations.

• Provides technical support and troubleshooting for moderately complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.

• Experience with Go programming language and optionally Python.

• Experience building and supporting fully automated cloud platform solutions as Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience working with cloud services platform primarily on AWS and automating the Cloud infrastructure life cycle with tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions and AWS SDK’s.

• Preferred: Experience supporting and enabling platform for complex application development activities in DevOps environment.

• Experience with FinOps optimization strategies.

• Experience with CI/CD tooling to drive Infrastructure Code Deployment including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Golang.

• Experience with infrastructure and application monitoring tools and enabling observability.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservice application deployments.

• Experience automating Windows and Linux operating system deployments and management in automatically scaling deployments using software package managers.
