Platform Engineer II - AWS, Kubernetes & Golang

About the role
Join our global payments team as a Platform Engineer II on the GKOP Platform (Atlas team) and help unleash the potential of every business through scalable, reliable infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Multi-region OpenShift platform operations — manage 25+ OpenShift clusters across 6 AWS regions, ensuring reliability, security, and performance for payment services.
- Infrastructure as Code & GitOps — design and maintain declarative infrastructure using Kubernetes manifests.
- Kubernetes Operators & automation — build or integrate operators to simplify infrastructure management, reduce toil, and enable self-service for consumer teams.
- Observability & platform health — own monitoring, alerting, and logging across the platform.
- Container security & compliance — implement and maintain security controls to support payment services and regulatory requirements.
- Incident response & troubleshooting — debug platform issues across the fleet.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline plus 5+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience).
- Solid experience managing container orchestration technologies in production (e.g., RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes).
- Strong experience with containers and immutable infrastructure.
- Strong experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Knowledge of or demonstrable experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, Golang).
- Experience with GitOps deployment tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform).
Nice-to-have skills
- Experience in global online businesses, particularly in payments, financial trades, merchant services, or online gaming.
- Knowledge of security aspects of financial systems, including PCI compliance, DDoS prevention, IDS, container security, and regulatory audit requirements.
- Experience running Apache Kafka on Kubernetes (architecture, components, producers, consumers, deployment, configuration, optimization, ZooKeeper, brokers).
- Experience running persistence services on Kubernetes (e.g., Redis).
- Good knowledge of standard internet protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP) and relevant troubleshooting tools, as well as Linux-based operating systems.

Pay
The good-faith estimated annual salary range for this full-time position is $91,900–$138,700. The actual starting salary will be based on experience, skills, relevant education or training, and geographic location. Changes in work location may impact the final offered salary.
