Platform Engineer – Entry Level Sales Program 2026
Introduction
Technology sales at IBM is evolving its way of working to break beyond boundaries with innovative approaches. Preferring to 'show' vs. 'tell', Client Engineering co-creates with clients, in real-time, on solutions to solve their hardest business challenges. As a Platform Engineer within Client Engineering, you'll be a key player in a multi-disciplinary team made up of Architects, AI Engineers, Designers, and Business Technology Leaders. The brightest and creative minds collaborate with clients as one team and contribute to experiential working sessions and builds. Your overall objective is to help IBM clients use our technology to solve their business challenges, and to identify what comes next.
Responsibilities
- Deliver unique client co-creation experiences to accelerate their transformation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to realize the full potential of our hybrid cloud and AI solutions and prove business value to our clients.
- Leverage contemporary hybrid cloud skills (ex. AI, analytics, DevOps, DevSecOps, IaC, security, networking, and storage) with deep industry expertise and understanding of your dedicated set of clients' businesses.
- Define and communicate the differentiated value of IBM's technology both technically and commercially.
- Participate in Lead client sessions that include a broad range of public and hybrid cloud technologies, such as Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks, and Kubernetes.
- Support the solutions architecture plan and be a hands-on "builder" in client-facing engagements.
- Advise on solution architecture to align with platform best practices and focus on our clients’ target environment to ease transition to deployment.
- Provide a seamless transition to our clients by working with deployment teams to transition, or perform, the production deployment platform assets and information.

Location
You may be required to work in one of the following IBM offices: Chicago IL, New York NY, Raleigh NC, San Francisco CA, and Washington DC.
Travel
To be successful in this role, you will need to be ready to travel up to 50% annually.
