Platform DevOps Engineer
About the role
The role involves designing, building, and operating reliable production infrastructure supporting AI Co-Workers. It includes owning Kubernetes-based platforms used to deploy and run AI workloads, building and maintaining infrastructure as code via GitOps methodology using Terraform/Terragrunt, and implementing and maintaining Helm-based deployment workflows leveraging GitOps tools and technologies (ArgoCD).
Responsibilities also include defining, measuring, and improving system reliability using SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, reducing operational toil through automation and engineering improvements, building and improving observability across monitoring, logging, and alerting, partnering closely with engineers to ensure systems are resilient, scalable, and secure, operating across build, deploy, and operate phases of the software lifecycle, troubleshooting and remediating issues across a highly variable, multi-layer technology stack, and contributing to product feature enhancements through the design and implementation of architectural improvements of the technology stack, which must satisfy requirements for resiliency, security, and compatibility across multiple cloud providers.
Requirements
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience designing, building, or operating workloads on EKS, AKS, GKE, or self-managed Kubernetes
- Hands-on Terraform/Terragrunt experience for infrastructure provisioning and automation
- Hands-on Helm experience for Kubernetes application deployment
- Professional experience using at least two programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby
- Direct Platform/DevOps experience or equivalent, including reliability engineering, on-call, incident response, post-mortems, and toil reduction
Qualifications
- Five or more years of relevant professional experience
- DevOps or DevSecOps experience, including CI/CD ownership, infrastructure automation, and security considerations
Skills
- Experience working within a defined SDLC, including CI/CD, release processes, and end-to-end delivery from design to operations
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with ArgoCD or GitOps-style deployment approaches
