For our client, we are seeking a Platform Architect to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will shape the architectural direction for a cloud-based platform, guiding technical decisions that support scalable, highly available products used across education and public-sector environments. You will partner closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into sound technical designs and resilient solutions. The position combines hands-on technical depth with architectural leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually Responsibilities Lead the architectural design and technical direction for platform product features, ensuring alignment with business strategy Drive the development of complex software solutions, writing high-quality and maintainable code Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering best software development practices Collaborate with engineering managers and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications Identify and evaluate new technologies to improve development processes and product capabilities Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a lead or principal engineering role Deep expertise in designing, building, and scaling complex, highly available, distributed systems Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Ruby, Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go, and familiarity with modern web frameworks Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Strong understanding of database systems, including relational and NoSQL databases, and data modeling principles Demonstrated ability to drive technical initiatives from conception to deployment and maintenance Benefits Competitive compensation with participation in the ownership program Flexible work culture with remote, hybrid, and in-office options Generous time off, including local holidays and an annual recharge period Comprehensive wellness programs and mental health support Learning and development resources, including professional tools and tuition reimbursement Access to essential technology and tools for optimal work performance Employee recognition programs and an inclusive company culture Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
