Plate Puller / Sorter Role Description

This role will be responsible for pulling plates ahead of production on a job basis. Plates are pulled and organized on a job basis and are accessible for the builders when they need them.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Pull plates from inventory and gather in organized fashion as directed from material list.
• Keep work area neat, clean, free from any possible hazards or debris.
• Absorb and assist table personnel in finding plates for particular jobs as necessary.
• Notify Plant Manager of inventory shortages or potential outages.
• Always adhere to company safety procedures, wearing required PPE while in plant area.
• Operate in all facets with a high degree of customer service and attentiveness to other truss team members.
• Work in open warehouse atmosphere with conditions similar to outdoors.
• Any other tasks or projects as assigned by management.

Skills Needed

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
• Be able to differentiate between different plate sizes and specs
• Good customer service skills

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and to talk or hear.
• Often required to sit, stand, climb or balance, and occasionally to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Regularly required to lift, move, or maneuver objects up to 60 pounds.
• Constant bending and turning, handling of sharp steel objects
