About the role
Working in the Press department, this associate operates the plate lift, separates pressed laminate and stacks material. Works under the direction of Press Operators/Foreman.
Responsibilities
- Retrieves and inspects component material, plates, and laminate.
- As part of a two person team, lays up the component material and lays off completed laminate according to the production process.
- Initiates corrective action if production operations are not standard.
- Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, rejects, etc.
- Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks and follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Participates in the Wilsonart Continuous Improvement system and complies with all quality standards.
- Perform other position duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a safe manner following company guidelines and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers, sufficient to enter data into system.
- Ability to identify patterns and finishes and follow quality specs.
- Ability to operate a lift truck.
- Skill in hand and eye coordination.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate/GED or combination of equivalent education and work history.
- 1 year of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Skills
- Ability to work in a safe manner following company guidelines and procedures.
