Plastics Engineer
About the role
The role objective is to execute product and process improvement projects, resolve product quality issues, scale up products, troubleshoot processes, install and test new equipment, develop innovative product designs, and validate processes. Essential functions include providing engineering support, documenting specifications, designing components, collaborating with various teams, managing projects, supporting supply chain engineering, facilitating new product introductions, and ensuring documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day engineering support to molding, blow molding, QC, automation, and tooling as needed to meet business goals.
- Documents and maintains up-to-date component and assembly specifications.
- Contributes to product design and establishes product requirements.
- Designs and develops components for new or existing products.
- Specifies, designs, obtains, and installs new or redesigned equipment and processes that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with production, maintenance, and other engineering groups.
- Practices project management skills, including team development, time and resource planning, and execution.
- Supports and improves supply chain engineering activities.
- Manages projects, including those requiring coordination of multiple technical disciplines with R&D, Total Solutions Management, and Supply Chain groups.
- Transfers new technology to relevant groups through the development and use of training materials, operating specifications, instructions, and start-up support.
- Facilitates new product introductions with R&D, Total Solutions Management, and Supply Chain in facilities and/or at contract manufacturers.
- Adheres to department procedures and/or work processes as required.
- Documents projects and equipment or process modifications.
- Collaborates across the enterprise with functional groups to achieve optimal business results.
Requirements
Education and experience: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Packaging, or Plastics Engineering is preferred, or a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience. Experience with Creo or SOLIDWORKS is strongly desired.
Qualifications
Minimum three years’ relevant work experience is required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Skills
Must have strong project management skills, ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and proficiency in Creo or SOLIDWORKS.

Pay
The expected starting pay for this role is between $76,200.00 - $104,800.00 per year, depending on experience and technical competencies.
