Plasma Table Operator 2nd Shift (Fort Wayne, IN)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Retrieves and loads large heavy plates of steel using overhead crane.
• Downloads program, enters parameters of job, selects type of cut, and cuts first piece.
• Programs standard shapes.
• Operates burn table by monitoring cutting and adjusting heat in torches, pre-heat times, and pierce rate.
• Unloads skeleton and parts using overhead crane, jib crane and/or magnets.
• Cleans and scrapes parts and cuts up scrap.
• Performs first-piece and in-process inspection by checking material thickness and dimensions of part per blueprint using calipers, tape measure and calculator. Completes inspection form.
• Cleans burn table and performs minor preventative maintenance such as checking coolant levels and gases and changing or adjusting them as needed. Changes oxyfuel tips.
• Completes Plasma Table maintenance log.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training.
• Blueprint knowledge preferred.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Three to six months CNC machine operation experience in manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the plant is generally loud.
