Responsibilities
- Collects plasma samples and moves plasma units to freezer.
- Maintains proper storage of plasma units according to SOPs.
- Verifies unit labeling accuracy by comparing pre-printed labels with dynamic labels.
- Utilizes sterile technique for drawing samples and uses heat sealers to ensure plasma unit samples’ sterility and quality.
- Packs and ships plasma units in accordance with SOPs and center procedures.
- Prepares shipping and unit disposal documentation.
- Maintains and monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures, reporting malfunctions and recording variances.
- Conducts daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs.
- Accurately records donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
- Understands and complies with hyper immune program policies if applicable.
- Maintains a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient supplies and forms are available.
- Fulfills HSE and OSHA policies and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
- May require bilingual skills, depending on organizational discretion.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in laboratory or warehouse environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Understanding, remembering, and applying oral and/or written instructions.
- Physical demands: occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and manual dexterity; occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds; fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions; exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens; required to wear personal protective equipment; ability to work overtime and extended hours.
