About the role

The Plasma Material Handling Associate serves as the primary point of contact for plasma operations within the Plasma Logistics Center. In this role, you receive, handle, classify, and control plasma inventory from donor centers through distribution to fractionation while ensuring accurate tracking, regulatory compliance, and efficient warehouse operations. You use RF technology and the Plasma Management System (SGP) to maintain precise inventory records, support supply chain initiatives, and assist team members as needed.

Schedule

This is a 2nd shift position with a regular schedule of Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with occasional overtime based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload plasma shipments from donor centers, verify shipment contents, and accurately sort and record inventory in the Plasma Management System (SGP).
  • Inspect pallets, crates, and containers for damage and determine their suitability for continued use in plasma storage and transport.
  • Operate RF (Radio Frequency) scanning equipment to track and manage plasma inventory throughout warehouse and freezer storage areas.
  • Pick and stage plasma inventory according to work orders and production requirements to support downstream operations.
  • Identify, segregate, and remove non-conforming or unsuitable plasma units from production inventory to maintain product quality.
  • Support classification processes by handling rejected, reallocated, or otherwise reclassified plasma units according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control across all stages, including receipt, storage, classification, and distribution of plasma units.
  • Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), OSHA, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area in both warehouse and cold storage environments.
  • Participate in cross-functional supply chain activities and support continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Follow detailed written procedures and instructions while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to coordinate tasks, report issues, and support smooth operations.
  • Safely and effectively store plasma in freezers and transport it throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment such as electric pallet jacks.
  • Perform basic documentation, data entry, and reporting using the Plasma Management System (SGP) and standard office software.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in cold storage environments at temperatures of -30°C or colder.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following detailed instructions and written procedures.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with team members and leadership.
  • Capability to safely and effectively operate electric pallet jack and rider electric pallet jack.
  • Ability to perform quality work while adhering to cGMP, SOPs, OSHA, and EHS regulations.

Preferred qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other FDA-regulated industry.
  • Experience working in cGMP-regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and industry standards.
  • Experience reading, understanding, and following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Experience with the Plasma Management System (SGP) or similar inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with RF scanning technology and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Experience in cold chain logistics or regulated supply chain environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle plasma or similar biologic products in a regulated setting.

Work environment

This role is based in a plasma logistics and warehouse facility that includes both standard warehouse areas and extreme cold storage environments at temperatures of -30°C or colder. The position involves frequent standing, walking, and repeated lifting of 25–50 lbs throughout the shift, as well as regular operation of electric pallet jacks and rider electric pallet jacks to move plasma and materials safely. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and inspection readiness, and you collaborate closely with team members and leadership through both verbal and electronic communication to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plasma handling operations.

Location

This is a fully onsite Contract position based out of Clayton, NC.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.80 - $25.80/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
