About the role
Medical Support Specialist supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility through medical history, physical exams, and lab review.
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions per SOPs.
- Refer complex medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support vaccination programs and manage employee incidents, including occupational health evaluations.
- Assist with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives and pandemic response efforts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; nursing or medical certification/license (e.g., RN, LPN, EMT, Paramedic).
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and basic IV therapy (state-specific requirements).
Key Duties
- Ensure donor safety and eligibility.
- Support safety and emergency protocols.
- Contribute to operational and health initiatives within the plasma donation center.
