Plant Utility Person

About the role

The Plant Utility Person is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and housekeeping of asphalt, concrete, or aggregate plants. This role plays a key part in ensuring plant equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently. This position requires flexibility to work across multiple plant locations and schedules, including overtime and weekends as needed. Work is performed with general guidance, and the employee is expected to work independently within established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies, MSHA, and OSHA regulations
• Maintain a clean and orderly plant environment
• Perform general plant housekeeping and cleanup, including:
  • Using high-pressure hoses
  • Maintaining drainage systems
  • Removing debris such as stone, sand, and muck
• Inspect plant equipment and report mechanical issues
• Operate equipment such as:
  • Haul Truck
  • Skid steer
  • Front-end loader
  • Dump truck
  • Sweeper
• Assist with maintenance and repairs, including:
  • Replacing parts and components
