Plant Training Coordinator

About the role

The Plant Training Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that all employees, especially those in Operations, Quality, and technical roles, are adequately trained. This position reports to the Regional Manager, HR, and works closely with supervisors, managers, and plant leadership to maintain and align training plans with Refresco NA’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to health and safety policies, GMPs, and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure food quality and safety compliance as per corporate, customer, and governing standards.
  • Develop, plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate training activities focusing on job competence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to achieve effective training outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for training requests and issues.
  • Manage training records using the Learning Management System (Alchemy).
  • Coordinate and schedule training with plant leadership, HR Business Partner, supervisors, and line leads.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for the plant.
  • Collaborate with the corporate training manager for guidance and input.
  • Identify and apply for training grants and collaborate with local technical schools.
  • Assess training effectiveness and document procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute training aids and materials.

Requirements

  • Experience in high-speed food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint, with experience in Alchemy or similar training systems a plus.
  • Training experience in a production environment combined with strong project management skills.
  • Strong project management skills, understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Strong team player with ability to work across multiple functions.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, results-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication for training delivery and collaboration.
  • Technical Knowledge - Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Leadership and Facilitation - Ability to lead training sessions and engage participants.
  • Collaboration - Strong teamwork skills for working with various departments and external partners.
  • Organizational Skills - Ability to manage multiple training initiatives and maintain detailed records.
  • Problem-Solving - Assess training needs, identify gaps, and develop solutions.
  • Adaptability - Flexibility to adjust training programs based on changing needs.
  • Project Management - Plan, organize, and execute training projects within time and budget constraints.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-5 years of relevant work experience in training and/or Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
