Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of processing operations at our milk facility.
- Lead a team of production associates, ensuring adherence to production schedules and maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with other departments to optimize production efficiency, monitor inventory levels, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, addressing any issues that arise during production.
- Production Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Staff Supervision:
- Lead, supervise, and support production associates.
- Compose and deliver performance evaluations, corrective action notices, and provide constructive feedback.
- Quality Control:
- Train, monitor, and enforce quality control standards.
- Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions.
- Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and promote safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.
- Communication:
- Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners (e.g., quality, logistics, maintenance).
- Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully to ensure smooth operations.
- Training and Development:
- Train new production employees.
- Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve production-related issues promptly.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards (OSHA, HACCP, etc.).
- Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment.
- Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
- Generate reports for management on production metrics.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two (2) or more years of leadership experience in a production environment.
- One (1) or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
- Ability to manage and develop employees.
- Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
