About the role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our manufacturing plant team. In this role, you will oversee the operations and performance of a designated production shift, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. Your leadership and manufacturing expertise will drive efficient operations and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of production operators, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Oversee the overall performance of the shift, including productivity, product quality, and adherence to safety regulations.
- Set daily production goals and priorities and effectively communicate these to the team.
- Monitor production processes and identify potential areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and cross-functional teams to optimize production flow and resolve operational issues.
- Train and develop production operators, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including shift reports, production logs, and inventory tracking.
- Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among the team.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize production output.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new team members as needed.
- Serve as a key member of the plant emergency response team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Technical or vocational education in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shift Supervisor, preferably in a manufacturing plant or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices for operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle challenges and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication abilities with all levels of operations.
