Plant Services Specialist - Swing Shift, 2:30PM - 11:00PM
About the role
Reporting to the Plant Services shift lead, this position is responsible for all activities associated with the sanitation of food processing equipment, facility hygiene, and master cleaning assignments. This includes adhering to GMP standards, chemical handling procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout tag out protocols. All required training must be completed within 3 months of hire. The role requires working most weekends and flexibility to take unscheduled days throughout the week to support sanitation cleaning schedules. This position is eligible for progression to Plant Services Specialist after completing required training and maintaining good standing.
Responsibilities
- Sanitize tools and equipment across the plant
- Clean equipment during shift changeovers
- Perform janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and refilling dispensers
- Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols
- Safely operate cleaning tools and equipment, including high-pressure hoses, compressed air, and cleaning chemicals
- Complete required safety training (Chemical Safety, Combustible Dust, Confined Space)
- Participate in safety programs (SBOs, F-Tags, incident reporting)
- Maintain flexibility and communicate with shift leads when tasks are complete
- Work around allergens (nuts, flour, etc.)
- Obtain certifications for forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, and wave lift
- Work at heights up to 40 feet using fall protection
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Sanitation Manager or Plant Services Lead
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to reach, climb, and maintain balance at heights
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in sanitation, janitorial work, or food processing (preferred but not required)
Pay
The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $22.65. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
