About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting plant and seed production activities for commercial crops such as soybean and maize.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily plant care activities, including watering, fertilizing, scouting, and general maintenance
- Conduct planting, sampling, transplanting, and pollination activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of plant growth and performance
- Monitor greenhouse and growth chamber environmental conditions and make necessary adjustments
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and stewardship expectations
- Collaborate with research teams to execute experimental plans and timelines
- Occasionally cover weekends and holidays to support critical operations
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical duties in greenhouse environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to HSE standards and quality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with data collection and recordkeeping
- Knowledge of plant biology, crop growth requirements, and plant care principles
- Greenhouse experience preferred
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field OR Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant experience
- Preferred: Experience with greenhouse/growth chamber environmental control systems, familiarity with agricultural research practices, and working knowledge of plant biology and crop growth requirements
