As a Quality Liaison, you will solve challenges ranging from small operational details to big strategic issues with industry-changing implications. Responsibilities
- Communicate with the customer and CLI to coordinate quality and material flow, minimizing or eliminating customer disruptions.
- Develop relationships with customer personnel to represent CLI’s position on potential issues.
- Apply a strong understanding of CLI processes to address issues on the spot.
- Ensure process compliance by conducting daily/weekly audits (carrier compliance, trailer safety, sequencing racks, Proof of Delivery Process Risk Management (PRM), ISO, GMS, GM financial, quality spill, and other plant-related logistics audits).
- Randomly audit material storage areas for correct sequence arrangement and availability for line use.
- Monitor customer safety stock to protect the plant from supplier quality issues or sequencing errors.
- Facilitate and monitor the timely delivery of safety stock.
- Maintain daily customer key indicators using the daily liaison report to meet expectations.
- Develop a strong knowledge of customer processes to identify variances for root-cause analysis of issues potentially charged to CLI.
- Train employees through on-the-job instruction to ensure conformance.
- Participate in Multi-disciplinary Five Phase Problem Solving Teams to drive CLI’s Continuous Improvement Process and Policies.
- Understand commodity locations, material flow, and window times.
- Perform line-side walkthroughs.
- Attend Plant Team Meetings with the customer.
- Relay line-side customer comments and suggestions.
- Maintain proper documentation and records.
Requirements
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience.
- Must have automotive experience in a high-volume sequencing environment at a Tier 1 or 3PL.
- Basic understanding of customer material and quality systems is preferred.
- Basic proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
