Plant Project Manager

Northern CA preferred. Full-time, benefited, exempt position with a pay range of $88k - $95K, DOE.

About the Role

The Plant Project Manager ensures outside plant projects run efficiently, timely, and within budget. This role manages all aspects of multiple outside plant construction projects from design concept through project delivery while promoting Sonic's core values of outstanding customer service, quality, security, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Excellent communication, customer/public interactions, and problem-solving
• Create long- and short-term plans, set targets for milestones, and adhere to deadlines
• Delegate tasks to employees best positioned to complete them
• Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for project progression
• Serve as a point of contact for teams to ensure synergy across multiple units
• Communicate with executives or department managers to align the project with their goals
• Perform quality control throughout project development to maintain expected standards
• Conduct materials takeoff and orders
• Schedule projects and establish project budgets
• Adjust schedules and targets as needs or financing change
• Coordinate with other Project Managers and teams to manage resources across multiple projects
• Apply for and maintain permits
• Cost control
• Supervise, monitor, and schedule contractors and in-house construction crews

Requirements

• Strong MS Project, GIS, and Accounting Software/ERP software skills required
• Valid California Driver’s License and clean DMV record
• Travel is expected for this position

Work Environment

The Plant Project Manager may be exposed to varying climates and elements. Driving is expected.

Physical Demands

• Constantly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and key/type
• Required to walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Required to drive a vehicle
