Plant Project Manager

About the role

The Plant Project Manager ensures outside plant projects run efficiently, timely, and within budget. This position manages all aspects of multiple outside plant construction projects from design concept through delivery while promoting Sonic's core values of outstanding customer service, quality, security, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Excellent communication, customer/public interactions, and problem-solving
• Create long- and short-term plans, set targets for milestones, and adhere to deadlines
• Delegate tasks to employees best positioned to complete them
• Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for project progression
• Serve as a point of contact for teams to ensure synergy across units
• Communicate with executives or department managers to align the project with organizational goals
• Perform quality control throughout project development
• Conduct materials takeoff and place orders
• Schedule projects and adjust as needed based on financing or requirements
• Establish and manage project budgets
• Coordinate with other Project Managers to manage resources across multiple projects
• Apply for and maintain permits
• Control costs
• Supervise, monitor, and schedule contractors and in-house construction crews

Requirements

• Strong skills in MS Project, GIS, and Accounting Software/ERP software
• Valid California Driver’s License and clean DMV record
• Ability to travel as required for the position
• Experience with Microsoft Project strongly preferred

Work Environment

Driving is expected. The Plant Project Manager may be exposed to varying climates and outdoor elements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Physical Demands

• Constantly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and type.
• Required to walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Required to drive a vehicle.

Pay

$88,000 - $95,000, dependent on experience.

Schedule

Full-time (40 hours per week), exempt position.
