Plant Operator Supervisor

About the role

Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is currently hiring a Plant Operator Supervisor in support of our government customer in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily operations of a sophisticated automated wastewater pretreatment plant.
• Ensure that all equipment operates properly and that all liquid chemical levels remain within tolerance.
• Wear various PPE when necessary (Tyvek Suits, Acid Rated Suits, Full Face Respirator, Dust Mask, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Gloves).
• Perform Confined Space Entry on tanks & floor pits as needed.
• Shovel out various tanks and sludge boxes as needed.
• Perform calibrations on pH & ORP Meters.
• Perform minor maintenance on various pieces of equipment when needed.
• Clean Plate & Frame Filter Presses as needed.
• Complete all annual trainings required by the contract.

Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• At least four (4) years of experience supervising operators in an industrial wastewater pretreatment or chemical process plant.
• Ability to lift & carry 50lb. bags of chemicals up ladders & stairs to mixing tanks.
• Ability to climb ladders & stairs to perform plant checks every 2 hours.
• Must pass Respiratory Fit Testing as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.134 (annual fit testing).
• Knowledgeable in using Human–Machine Interface (HMI)/SCADA software that operates applicable portions of the Plant.
• Must hold a current Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) Class III or higher Wastewater Treatment or equivalent certification.
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, able to read and understand English.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
