The Gas Cylinder Operator I will contribute to the cylinder requalification and repair process, moving industrial gas cylinders with care and precision or with the aid of material handling equipment to different areas of the plant and assisting with loading/unloading cylinders from delivery trucks. Perform cylinder cleaning and general maintenance regularly to maintain our high standards. Identify and sort cylinders to foster efficient retesting and handling.
- Champion the safe operation of forklifts, hand-trucks, pallet-jacks, chain hoists, etc., to move compressed and liquid industrial gas cylinders between delivery trucks, testing, and storage areas.
- Load cylinders onto vehicles with care or with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Transfer plant cylinders to different areas within the facility using a forklift.
- Collaborate with the supervisor if normal truck loading duties cannot be accomplished for any reason to find a solution.
- Replace pallet straps as necessary to maintain a tidy workspace.
- Complete required paperwork with attention to detail and as needed.
- Communicate any equipment or facility defect(s) to the supervisor to help maintain our shared environment.
- Help keep the team safe by ensuring any accident or injury is promptly reported.
Requirements
- Must be customer service oriented and able to interact with fellow Associates in a professional manner.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, MSDS, and procedure manuals.
- Possess basic mathematic and written skills.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training preferred.
Pay
The hourly base pay range for this position in California is $20.00 - $24.50.
Schedule
Shift: 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm
