Plant Operator IV (Blender)

About the role

We are hiring a Plant Operator IV (Blender) in Durham, NC. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Fills and cares for specialty products into compressed and liquefied gas cylinders in compliance with regulations.
• Maintains a steady workflow and supports Airgas safety standards.
• Inspects and maintains cylinder fill equipment, performs minor maintenance, and inspects cylinders and trailers.
• Scrapes, labels, and paints cylinders, and safely maneuvers them using equipment.
• Reviews and follows Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Maintains accurate fill sheets and records, operates and supports various pumps, and offloads cryogenic materials.
• Ensures a clean, safe, and orderly work environment and supports team initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Aptitude for high precision work.
• Ability to operate forklift and maintain certifications.
• Ability to follow directions, make decisions, work as a team, and be reliable.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, using hands and arms, talking, and hearing.

Qualifications

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of pure gas filling process, product purification techniques, and collaborative troubleshooting.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Intermediate knowledge of safety management systems and DOT Special Permits.
