Plant Operator

Responsibilities

• Assist with the manufacturing, loading or unloading of chemicals, emulsified asphalt, and binder products.
• Loading and unloading of chemicals, emulsified asphalt, binder trucks, tack pots, spreader trucks and asphalt.
• Absorb responsibility for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating professionally.
• Absorb responsibility for assist in railcar steaming and unloading operations.
• Perform basic housekeeping duties such as cleaning up litter, spilled products, office, bathroom etc.
• Sweep building interiors.
• Properly clean and store tools.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Work as part of a team.
• Basic recordkeeping skills.
• Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to use a calculator for basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to start tasks independently and motivate others.
• Ability to work in dirty and adverse working conditions.
• Ability to perform weekend checks of the plant on a rotating basis.
• Ability to observe gauges, dials, and machinery operation to ensure compliance with processing specifications.
• Ability to obtain a Forklift Operation license (OSHA).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a Forklift Operation license (OSHA).
• Valid state automobile driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for potential work-related travel.
