Plant Operator

About the Role

In the absence of the Plant Manager, the leadman is responsible for all site activities, including the health and welfare of the crew, ensuring the site meets or exceeds safety standards, and the safe operation of the plant. The role involves maximizing production while maintaining quality products within internal and external specifications, compiling operational data, and implementing daily production and maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Summit Safety Principles.
• Ensure safe operation of the plant and compliance with fugitive dust regulations.
• Compile and complete timecards, maintenance logs, production logs, and other operational data.
• Implement the Plant Program, including daily production and maintenance schedules.
• Communicate frequently with crew members to ensure best operational practices.
• Oversee inspection and repair of plant equipment; report safety or mechanical issues to supervisor immediately.
• Perform daily and monthly plant inspections; maintain equipment inspection logs.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently; keep equipment cabs and control houses clean.
• Monitor feed material to ensure optimal plant performance and high-quality final products.
• Meet or enhance scheduled uptime, operating efficiency, labor costs, and maintenance costs.
• Communicate production goal progress to supervisor and crew, including uptime and operating efficiency.
• Adhere to company safety standards and training; apply the "You see it, you own it" and "Stop the job" principles for safety.

Daily Duties

• Perform daily equipment inspections.
• Maintain and submit maintenance logs, production logs, and timecards.
• Turn in equipment inspection logs daily; do not operate equipment without performing inspections.
• Conduct site observations to visually inspect plant operations.

• Site Specific Training, including site inspection training.
• Plant Operation Task Training.
