Plant Operator
Position Objectives
The Plant Operator is responsible for operating three carbon adsorption systems. The system consists of three circuits with varying amounts of carbon in each column. Solution distribution and overflow processes are managed, and carbon is stripped and regenerated as necessary. The operator takes samples, performs maintenance checks, and ensures proper flow and pressure delivery.
Key Performance Objectives
- Complete a walk-around inspection at the start of each shift, documenting all defects and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain frequent radio communication with other operators and ensure safety during night, holiday, and weekend shifts.
- Inspect and manage all pumps, tanks, and chemical levels to prevent leaks and malfunctions.
- Inspect Derrick carbon screens for proper operation and report any deficiencies.
- Transfer carbon as needed based on lab analysis and maintain carbon levels in tanks.
- Ensure proper flows and pressures to leach pad drippers and communicate with Leach Operations.
Minimum Education or Substituted Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1 year working around pumps or industrial plants
Skills
- Communicate and write in English
- Prioritize work
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office software
Working Conditions
- Active mine site with open pit mining, processing facilities, leach pads, maintenance areas, and offices
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions including high heat, cold temperatures, wind, dust, and occasional precipitation or flash flooding
- Proximity to large mobile equipment, moving mechanical parts, blasting activities, noise, vibration, diesel exhaust fumes, chemicals, fuels, oils, airborne particles, or other industrial hazards typical of mining operations
- Outdoor work on uneven or rough terrain
- Encounter desert wildlife and native plant life
- Required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, and other PPE as determined by job task and location

Annual Pay Range
$70,926.00 - $81,411.00 based on experience.
